I'm going to call this a variation on option two (see my commentary from the last volley). Naz took Chris's story and slowed it down. Rather than following his lead lock-step and tacking on the next chapter, he's respun, put a brake on the speed, and grabbed control by steering the match in a new direction.
Which is a stronger conceptual response than it may seem. Consider that in the 15-minute pressure chamber, Naz paused and came up with the idea to embed Chris's gag in a fashion catalog. What was menacing became wholesome; John Deere in lieu of Freddie Krueger. And, he incorporated a dig, telling all those rural Ohio-ans they need to step up their fashion sense. Take that, Gambier!
Considering that Abercrombie & Fitch is based in Ohio, this is pretty smart. Chris's cargo shorts do look suspiciously artificially frayed.
