Rosecrans Baldwin's Layer 9 Commentary

Cool Hand Sam

I'm still laughing over this one, several minutes later. And laughter goes a long way towards pleasing this commentator.

Rosecrans's Socratic beer bottle: So, you like this round?

Rosecrans: Look, the design nerds will disdain. RISD caps don't come cheap, and you've got to do something with your expertise. But I'm laughing, bottle, I'm laughing.

Rosecrans's Socratic beer bottle: Laughter aside, you say that it's good?

Rosecrans: It's stupid, it's childish, and it looks like a comic passed around at Sunday School classes. But it takes up the story, kicks it down the curb, and has fun with the aesthetic thus far. The clouds are holding hands over a sea of blood, and yet they won't come to the rescue of our poor drowning axe murderer. So you've got conflict, you've got creepy undertones. It's not Macbeth, but it's not careless.

Rosecrans's Socratic beer bottle: Well, it sounds like you're giving this guy a break because he didn't take the task very seriously.

Rosecrans: Probably true.

Rosecrans's Socratic beer bottle: Whereas someone who took the competition more seriously, might have responded with something more artistically interesting or surprising.

Rosecrans: Bottle, what? This is Layer Tennis. The guy's working within a 15-minute timeframe. And he's Sam Brown. He's not putting together an insurance pamphlet.

Rosecrans's Socratic beer bottle: Now you're just being--

Bottle obnoxious and dull. Bottle drunk. More pleez.
