Matthew Baldwin's Layer 6 Commentary

Decent Into Madness

It's interesting to pair up these quotation. "99% of the things that go on are boring, but there is that 1% that explosively changes the landscape." And now "We are decent 99% of the time, when we could easily be vile." From this can we infer that non-vile behavior is dull, with tthe world-changing 1% a byproduct of malevolence?

If so we've got some evil geniuses in the house, because both blogs are bursting bombs as we enter the second half. And check out the crafty symbolism: there are 100 columns of dots in the image, 99% of which are red. The remaining column perhaps represents the thin blue line we cross when we wander into the realm of the vile.

Notice also that ISO50 sets the mountain on it's feet. Will this continue as a trend for the remainder of the match: with BDiF knocking things onto their side, and Scott putting them back in their rightful place?

And this quotation reminds me of another, a favorite of mine known as "Heinlein's Razor". "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity," it says. "But don't rule out malice."
