This is Layer 2 by Aaron Draplin      Tools:

Bryan Bedell's Layer 2 Commentary

Don’t Shed No Tears

Aaron agrees to the rules and adds his own threats and stipulations.

I promised myself I wouldn't talk about the Stanley Cup playoffs, but when the Blackhawks lost to the stupid Red Wings, my wife's sister's friend's husband mailed me a Kleenex. I'm not really a sports fan, but I dig hockey and I dig the Blackhawks, but I grew up on the Penguins. So I got my revenge. I was going to mail him a whole box of Kleenex, just stick a mailing label on it and throw it in the mailbox, but I was in Maine and the post office was an hour drive from the Kleenex store and I never got around to it.

Oh, Layer Tennis, sorry, yeah. So Draplin keeps things monotone and in his inimitable (wait I guess it is imitable after all, Greg just did it) style, but Peter-Savilles it up with some diagonal stripes poking in. Where's my "Power, Corruption, and Lies" decoder ring?

It's kind of rad that Aaron might be the only designer on earth to admit his schtick is a schtick. But if he's going to be a nerd about letterspacing, I'm going to call him out on it. It's "tracking," not "kerning," when it's done across an entire word or paragraph.

Did I say "a Tylenol PM?" I meant two, and I still feel like Ginny Baker on her wedding day. Say "no" to Drugs.

SOUNDTRACK:
There are a lot of great songs about crying, but this one might be the best.
