Jason Koxvold's Layer 5 Commentary

Dharma Chameleon

Way to freak me out again Smithson. The eerily slow pan up the speaker’s body eventually reveals him to be the human incarnation of the previous character before The Man shuts down the transmission.

The whole thing feels very Lost again - another total shift in style, as the story goes further down the rabbit hole. By bringing the illustrated characters from the last few rounds back into a human context, Smithson turns the camera back on us. What is this revelation we've been waiting for these last thousand years, only to be rewarded with a pungent rabbit? And who doesn't want us to know?

Of course, upon changing the channel, we’re presented with some kind of state-approved LOLcat, to distract us from what’s really happening. As sociopolitical commentaries go, this one is laser sharp: a bullet through the heart of the military industrial complex.

Or just an awesome, spooky, funny story. You decide. And then tell us, by posting to ‘twitter’ with a ‘hashtag’. Be warned, though, The Man reads that stuff too.

Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Jason Koxvold.
