Whoa, Matt is getting cocky--most contestants save the decapitation for the finishing stroke, but the blood is already flowing.
(ASIDE: a friend of mine once observed that, were it to follow the traditional rules of prefixation, the word "behead" would mean "to add an additional head to someone". I cannot help but think of this whenever listening to the most grisly of Nightly News reports.)
I love how the T-shirt industry--a throwback to the age when people used physical things to express their identities--has grown in conjunction with the rise of Twitter and Facebook and all the other social media. Many of those 140-character tweets that people are so fond of are just catch t-shirt slogans just waiting to be converted from 0s and 1s into press-on letters. And it seems that a guy can't even get enthusiastic over a double rainbow these days without a corresponding piece of apparel hitting the virtual shelves within moments.
An interesting dynamic is emerging here: Matt picks a new industry (donuts, t-shirts, etc.) and challenges Armin to respond. More work for Matt one might argue, but it also puts him the driver's seat. It will be interesting to see if Armin can get out from under the rhythm that Matt has set, and rebrand the entire match in his favor.
Play by play commentary for this match is provided, as it happens, by Matthew Baldwin.
There are two matches going on simultaneously today. Make sure to check in on the other one too which features Nick Campbell playing Aaron Scamihorn.
Congratulations to Mig Reyes, Layer Tennis Season 3 Champion.

Cast your votes on The Championship Match. Both Finalists will receive invitations to play in the post-season tournament for Season Four.
Here's how the voting works. Decide who you'd like to declare as winner and then simply tweet their first name following a hash mark. Either #mig or #noper and, this is important, also include #lyt in that tweet. We'll leave the voting open all weekend and announce our Season Three Champion on Monday.
