A Grimm Outlook

Noper and James Donaldson have been throwing around some fairy-tale ideas for the match and tell us they’ve settled on the Brothers Grimm, at least as a starting point.

Radu Pop of Bucharest, Romania runs a private creative studio calle Noper. It’s a personal space where he can express himself freely both for himself and his clients with no bounds whatsoever. The studio began 5-6 years ago as a creative alternative to the his corporate life working as an art director at Leo Burnett for big ugly clients like Philip Morris, Procter&Gamble and so on, clients which he felt offered little to no creative satisfaction. He began drawing more and more, trying to express his feelings and defined his current business with small steps over time. Nowadays he mostly does bizarre illustrations along with on-brief stuff for clients like Esquire, MTV, Orange, and Coca Cola. He even won some awards this year, with a brief illustration for Mtv, at Cannes and and an Irish festival. He told us: “I really like limericks and nonsense poetry in general, I feel truly inspired by it, as it’s a bit random and clicks in random ways in my head, so maybe I’ll use that as a weapon… but I’ll also use my ninja skills as well.” That should play well within the “Grimm” theme today.

James Donaldson is a creative from Savannah, GA. His formal education in design began when he was 14 and includes the College of Visual Arts (MN), Asbury University (KY), Savannah Arts Academy and Savannah College of Art and Design (GA). His work ranges from Harry Potter to the United States Department of Justice. He is currently the “Lead Design Mercenary” at the Paragon Design Group in Savannah, GA.
